Eaton’s new FT1380 Electronic Hose Crimper is shaking up the industry! The FT1380e has received a new-aged transformation from its original model. Find out what Eaton carried over from its legacy crimper and what got an upgrade as we explore updated features like the digital display, unlimited storage space and ease of switching between crimp settings.
The One-Of-A-Kind Digital Display
The classic FT1380 10-button display is now a digital display screen. The easy-to-use interface comes to users as an industrial grade touch screen designed to withstand consistent handling by its operators in tough shop conditions.
The upgraded display features on the FT1380e also increases its functionality. Automatically calculate crimp specifications and off specs by simply selecting the hose, size, and fitting. The new touch screen features color assembly photos that allow operators to easily identify the hose and fittings. Additionally, you can view and select the hose, hose size, fittings, and die cages in color on the touch screen.
Storage that goes beyond 10 programmed crimp specs
One of the most coveted features of the new FT1380e hose crimper is the upgraded storage space. You are no longer limited to 10 programmed crimp slots like you were on the original machine. The FT1380e allows you to have an unlimited number of crimp specs stored within it.
With the abundance of storage space, you can upload and use your customized specs or use the crimp specs that Eaton preloaded from the original FT1380. Eaton created a library which acts as your data base where all crimp specs are stored, giving you the option to create a favorites menu to manage your frequently used crimp specs. Managing your Favorites Menu is as easy as touching a button to add or remove a crimp spec.
Work with multiple hose types and sizes without reprogramming
We know that each hose, size and fitting style has its own crimp specifications. With the unlimited storage space the FT1380e offers the ability to save custom crimp specifications, you can now switch between jobs with ease. Eaton’s FT1380e increases your production speed through its variable retract crimping, so you can load new assemblies in without having to adjust the hose crimper.
Operators will then search through their library, locate the correct specifications and smoothly switch between hose types so that crimping is done more efficiently. The only thing you need to do is switch out the die cage when necessary.
With the new FT1380E you'll have the ability to crimp:
- Aeroquip Hose: up to -20 6-wire Spiral hose with the TTC, 4S, 6S and OTC Fittings
- Everflex PTFE: -4 thru -16 with the “E” Series Fittings
- Synflex: -3 thru -16
- Eaton Industrial Hose with TTC and OTC Fittings
- 100R5 Hose (R5 die cages required)
